Terms and Conditions - Atlantic Surf School Strandhill
Cancellation Policy
- Individual Bookings: Cancellations must be made at least 72 hours prior to the scheduled lesson. Failure to cancel within this timeframe will result in being charged the full lesson fee, which is non-refundable.
- Group Bookings: Large groups (defined as six or more participants) must cancel at least one week in advance. To secure the reservation, a non-refundable deposit of 20% of the total booking cost is required.*
Photography Consent
- During surf lessons and related activities, photographs may be taken for marketing and promotional purposes. By participating in our services, you authorize Atlantic Surf School Strandhill to use these photos for marketing purposes without any compensation to you.
Assumption of Risk
- Participants acknowledge and understand the inherent risks associated with surfing, including the potential for injury. Atlantic Surf School Strandhill shall not be held responsible for any injuries, illnesses, or damages incurred during lessons or while using our facilities.
- Participants specifically acknowledge that Atlantic Surf School Strandhill shall not be liable for any injuries resulting from encounters with wildlife, such as stingrays, jellyfish, or other marine creatures.
Alcohol and Substance Use
- Participants are prohibited from consuming alcohol or using any substances that impair judgment or coordination before or during surf lessons. Atlantic Surf School Strandhill reserves the right to refuse service to any individual under the influence.
Surf Conditions
- Atlantic Surf School Strandhill strives to provide safe and enjoyable surf lessons. However, if surf conditions are deemed unsafe for surfing or if the ocean is completely flat, we reserve the right to reschedule the lesson or provide a full refund to the participants.
Personal Belongings
- Participants are responsible for their personal belongings during the surf lessons. Atlantic Surf School Strandhill will not be liable for any loss, theft, or damage to personal property brought to the lesson.
Health and Fitness
- Participants should ensure they are in good health and have a reasonable level of fitness to participate in surf lessons. It is the responsibility of the participant to inform Atlantic Surf School Strandhill of any medical conditions or physical limitations that may affect their ability to surf safely.
Age Restrictions
- Participants under the age of 18 must have written consent from a parent or guardian to participate in surf lessons offered by Atlantic Surf School Strandhill.
Code of Conduct
- Participants are expected to behave in a respectful and considerate manner towards instructors, staff, and fellow participants. Failure to comply with the code of conduct may result in the participant being asked to leave the lesson without a refund.
Privacy Policy
- Atlantic Surf School Strandhill respects the privacy of its customers. Any personal information collected during the booking process or through the use of our services will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
Personal Safety
- Participants are responsible for their personal safety during surf lessons. It is essential to follow the instructions of the instructors, adhere to safety guidelines, and use appropriate protective gear provided by Atlantic Surf School Strandhill.
Lesson Duration
- Surf lessons typically last for a designated time period as specified during the booking process. Participants are expected to arrive on time and be prepared for the lesson. Late arrivals may result in a shortened lesson without a refund or rescheduling option.
Instructor Availability
- While Atlantic Surf School Strandhill strives to provide instructors for all scheduled lessons, instructor availability may vary due to unforeseen circumstances. In such cases, Atlantic Surf School Strandhill will make reasonable efforts to provide a suitable replacement or reschedule the lesson.
Governing Law and Jurisdiction
- These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Irish Surfing Association, Irish Water Safety, Sligo County Council, Gards. Any disputes arising out of these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Sligo County.

Amendments and Modifications
- Atlantic Surf School Strandhill reserves the right to modify, amend, or update these Terms and Conditions at any time without prior notice. It is the responsibility of participants to review the most recent version of the Terms and Conditions before making a booking.
Severability
- If any provision of these Terms and Conditions is deemed invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue to be valid and enforceable to the fullest extent permitted by law.
Entire Agreement
- These Terms and Conditions constitute the entire agreement between participants and Atlantic Surf School Strandhill, superseding any prior agreements, understandings, or representations.
