Beats and Waves Youth Camp: A week of learning, Surfing, and Music!
We created Beats and waves to keep promoting your child’s potential. Created for children and teenagers aged 7-15, our camps combine the exciment of surfing with a strong educational structure into the ocean's wonders.
Led by experienced instructors from Atlantic Surf School, your children will learn more than just how to ride the waves—they’ll gain a deep understanding of surf conditions, sea life, water safety, ocean awareness and hazards.. Each day is carefully planned to build confidence and touch different topics they will guide the journey to have your where your kids will feel comfortable and safe in the water.
Benefits
In addition to daily surfing lessons, we introduce a unique element: a drumming workshop with Peter Crann from WE DRUM IRELAND. Through music, children will discover the power of rhythm, learning basic beats and experiencing the joy of creating together. It’s the perfect mix of action and creativity!
Our week-long program runs every Monday to Friday during July and August, offering parents the option to join the camp as a surfer, stay and watch from the sand, or leave their kids in our expert care. After each day’s session, kids can enjoy warm showers in the Surf Centre, keeping them refreshed and ready to enjoy the rest of the day.
At the end of the camp, each participant will receive a diploma signed by Atlantic Surf School’s manager, Zuhe Coronil, and drumming instructor Peter Crann. This certificate reflects their learning achievements and marks the completion of an educational program that fosters water safety, environmental awareness, and personal growth.
Our coaches are certified by the Irish Surfing Association, Water Safety Ireland, and Child Protection standards, with all instructors Garda vetted. Secure your child’s spot today for a summer of surfing, education, and unforgettable memories!

We are located in the National Surf Centre in Strandhill, Co. Sligo.

Each lesson includes a surfboard, wetsuit, and boots.
The total length of each lesson is 2.5 hours from the point a client arrives until they leave.
We recommend bringing a towel, sunscreen, water, and a swimsuit to wear under the wetsuit. If you have your own surf gear, such as boards and wetsuits, you are welcome to bring them.
Our lessons are primarily in English, but we have multilingual instructors. We can also offer lessons in Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, French, and German.
Absolutely! All our lessons are designed for beginners. We will teach you how to stand on a surfboard in no time. Our instructors are experienced in helping first-timers get comfortable and enjoy their surfing experience.
